In a recent crackdown on reckless driving by unauthorized off-road vehicles in Vallejo, the Vallejo Police Department Patrol Division put the brakes on some unlawful street stunts last Friday. A group of ATV and dirt bike enthusiasts took to Sonoma Boulevard, turning the thoroughfare into their playground, as per the Vallejo Police Department.

The police response resulted in multiple traffic stops, uncovering that at least three of the drivers did not possess a valid license. In Napa County, two adult males riding dirt bikes were temporarily detained by law enforcement. Later that evening, a San Francisco man piloting an ATV was also caught after he initiated a pursuit with officers when commanded to stop. According to the Vallejo Police Department, "the San Francisco driver refused to pull over and initiated a pursuit."

This escapade did not end well for the ATV rider, who eventually found himself out of options in the 600 block of Tennessee Street. After the chase, which was marked by heedless traffic violations including running stop signs and driving on sidewalks, the offender was apprehended and subsequently sent to Solano County Jail.

The two dirt bike riders got off with citations and were released on-site, but their vehicles didn't evade justice. All three vehicles used in these stunts were towed away and slapped with a 30-day hold.
