Get ready to unleash your inner child or delight your actual kids because the Kaua‘i Police Department is bringing back its popular Touch-A-Truck event for the fourth year running. Set for Saturday, June 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., this family-friendly affair will pull into Vidinha Stadium parking lot in Līhu‘e, ready to dazzle attendees of all ages, as reported by the County of Kauai. There will be no shortage of big wheels and sirens as the community gets up close and personal with a fleet that includes a fire engine, a sanitation truck, and even the unmistakable profile of a police car.
This free happening isn't just about getting hands-on with vehicles that are typically seen from a distance, according to the County of Kauai's press release. For those planning to join the fun, parking will be available on the northern side of the Vidinha Stadium parking lot.
Participants are reminded to pack essentials for a morning under the Hawaiian sun – water, snacks, and sunscreen should be on your checklist. If you or someone you love requires an auxiliary aid or service to fully enjoy the event because of a disability, contact Lieutenant Matthew Tavares at (808) 241-1647. For information in alternate formats, such as large print or Braille, just ask, the announcement added, as per the County of Kauai.
