The Washington County Sheriff's Office is appealing to the public for assistance following a violent home invasion and sexual assault in Beaverton. The incident occurred near SW Bridle Hills Drive and SW 161st Drive on Monday at approximately 10:40 p.m., as reported by officials. A woman was attacked by an unidentified man who unlawfully entered her residence, committed both physical and sexual assault, and subsequently evaded the authorities.
Despite the absence of immediate success with K9 and drone searches, ongoing investigations suggest a potential link between the crime and Luis Alberto Garcia, a 31-year-old Cornelius resident. According to the victim, Garcia had been issuing threats before the assault, although he did not fit the description of the assailant, and his alibi during the time of the attack has been verified. Arrested on unrelated charges after a search warrant was executed at his home on June 11, Garcia is kept under scrutiny for his potential involvement in the incident.
The nature of the assault implies that it was not random, prompting law enforcement to maintain confidentiality regarding the suspect's description. In search of leads, detectives are requesting locals to review their surveillance footage from the night of June 9, between 10:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., and report any suspicious activity to the Sheriff's Office. Community members are encouraged to contact non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111 with any pertinent information, referencing case number 50-25-8016, and particularly any known details concerning Garcia's role in this event.
