The closures, set to take place from Monday, June 16, through Saturday, June 21, are due to bridge and embankment work, as well as drainage improvements. According to an announcement from the Rockwall County website, drivers will face daytime and overnight closures at various points along the interstate.

Key shutdowns will occur on the John King East to West and West to East U-turns, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, as part of bridge activities at John King. Similarly, there will also need to also handled overnight disruptions: the 30 Eastbound Left Lane stretching from FM 548 to FM 2642 and the Westbound Left Lane from FM 2642 to FM 548, both from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to bridge work near FM 35 and Sabine Creek.

Additional interruptions include flagging operations on FM 548 for drainage work and bridge activities at Pond Branch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, embankment construction and removals will close the 30 Eastbound Frontage Road Left Lane from SH 205 to Townsend Drive and the 30 Westbound Frontage Road Left Lane from Townsend Drive to SH 205 during daytime hours. More overnight lane closures are scheduled at FM 3549 and the frontage road areas from Fate Main PL to FM 3549.
