Authorities in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, are earnestly seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman connected to a series of bank frauds. According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, the suspect is alleged to have deposited three $16 United States Postal Service money orders at different First National Bank locations before withdrawing substantial sums of money from accounts that were not her own, as Audacy reported.
As detailed by WTAE, the sequence of events, believed to have been perpetrated on April 7, involved the suspect going to three separate First National Bank branches located on Woodward Drive, South Main Street, and North Main Street in the Greensburg area. At one location, she is alleged to have withdrawn $2,400 without authorization, while at another, $3,000 was taken from a victim's account. This information, released by the authorities, suggests a methodical approach to deplete funds from unsuspecting victims gradually.
Efforts to capture the suspect have been intensified, with law enforcement releasing security footage that shows the suspect was a passenger in a white sedan during the time of the incidents. The Pennsylvania State Police have publicized an appeal for anyone with information concerning the woman's identity or whereabouts to come forward. They have provided contact numbers for both the Greensburg troopers and the PSP tip line for this purpose.
Authorities urge those with any relevant information to make contact by calling PA State Troopers at 814-445-4104 or reaching out through the dedicated tip line at 800-472-8477.
