The latter team made headlines for their recent rescue of a dog from a fiery entrapment that took place on June 9. “We recently received a letter from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) recognizing the rescue of a dog during a house fire on June 9th. While the letter was addressed to us, the save was made by the responding crew from City of Lake Worth Fire Department,” read the Facebook post by White Settlement Fire Department.
