A brutal stabbing in Monroe has led to the arrest of a 40-year-old woman, with police still on the hunt for an additional suspect. WBTV reports that the victim, 66-year-old Richard Adams, was discoved covered in blood with stab wounds on Saturday, an attack that prompted an immediate police investigation.
Authorities were called to the scene near Skyway Drive and Winchester Ave around 5 p.m., after getting reports of a bloodied man staggering close to the Skyway Drive railroad bridge; following the man's blood trail, which led them directly to the scene of the crime at a residence on Miller Street according to QCNews, police apprehended Shaunte Nicole Waters and charged her with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and obstruction of justice.
WCCB Charlotte has reported that Waters is currently detained at the Union County Detention Center under no bond; details surrounding the motives for the stabbing have not yet been disclosed by authorities,
In tandem with the search for Waters' alleged accomplice, Antonio Gerard Wilson, 33, has been identified by Monroe Police as a second person of interest in this case, they have an issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of accessory after the fact, Monroe Police and Union County Crime Stoppers have encouraged anyone with information on Wilson’s whereabouts to come forward, reminding potential informants that anonymity is assured and there could be a financial reward for useful tips.
