A 34-year-old woman has been arrested following a violent altercation that ensued at a house party in Victorville, San Bernardino County. According to a KTLA report, the suspect, identified as Angelica Riojas of Apple Valley, is facing attempted murder charges after a brawl broke out in the early hours of Sunday.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported that just before 3:00 A.M. on Sunday, authorities were called to a residence in the 13000 block of Maywood Street. The altercation, which officials believe began after Riojas was confronted by another female attendee, quickly turned physical. "As Riojas walked away to get in her vehicle, several individuals continued to follow and punch her," the department said. Riojas is alleged to have subsequently produced a box cutter, managing to injure multiple individuals at the scene.
Local law enforcement from the Victorville Police Department's response team arrived to find two victims with multiple injuries, while several others had already self-transported to local hospitals. The Nixle advisory from the Victorville Police Station provided details of the incident, stating that "multiple fights occurred at the location involving attendees" and that Riojas herself sought treatment at a hospital, where she was later detained by authorities.
Riojas was booked at the High Desert Detention Facility in Adelanto on attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges. The condition of the victims was not immediately available, and officials have yet to disclose the motivations behind the violent encounter. The investigators have made a public appeal for information and have asked witnesses to contact the SBSD's Victorville Station or the sheriff's dispatch.
