A tragic incident unfolded in the Holly Hills neighborhood of South St. Louis on Saturday as a 53-year-old woman lost her life after her vehicle collided with the front of a residential home. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scenario at approximately 3:50 p.m. in the 3700 block of Bates Street, where they discovered a gray Cadillac CTS that had struck the front steps of a duplex, according to KSDK.
Early reports, indicate that the driver sustained serious injuries upon impact and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries thereafter. The driver's identity has not been disclosed by the authorities who are diligently working to determine the causes behind this fatal crash, this is in line with information provided by First Alert 4.
Residents of the stricken duplex were present at the time of the collision. Maria Santiellan, who occupies one of the units with her family, was folding clothes in the front room when the crash occurred, and her husband, who was outside in the front yard, narrowly escaped being in the driver's path.
