A tragic incident occurred in west Harris County when a woman was fatally injured after being run over by a pickup truck driven by her boyfriend. The horrifying event took place yesterday evening, around 8:20 p.m., on Bethan Glen Lane in the Villages of Langham Creek Park neighborhood, as reported by KHOU. Authorities say the couple was returning from a local bar and became engaged in an argument that escalated to violence.
According to Click2Houston, the man veered the truck off the road onto a sidewalk, colliding with the trash can, prompting the woman to exit the vehicle. It was then that the Harris County Sheriff's Office stated the boyfriend ran her over. The woman was discovered severely injured and later succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to an area hospital.
The boyfriend, who has not been identified, initially fled the scene but later returned on foot and was arrested. Charges against him include assault with a deadly weapon - family violence, driving while intoxicated, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Despite signs of intoxication, the man was cooperative with officers at the scene, as stated in an interview obtained by Click2Houston. The Harris County Sheriff's Office's Vehicular Crimes Division is conducting further investigation into this fatal incident.
