To streamline operations and respond to observed patterns, the License Center has decided to adjust its schedule for administering the Class D written test. Citing a decrease in afternoon attendance rates, the center is now shifting its focus to expanded morning hours. According to a statement obtained by Wright County, "Our team did a service analysis and determined that, although many afternoon appointments were booking, most of those who booked afternoon appointments did not show up for their exam."
The low turnout in the afternoon sessions, despite being regularly booked, indicated a misalignment between the center's services and the community's actual demands. Thus, the License Center now welcomes learners on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The update about this change in information was detailed in an announcement on Wright County's official website.
This change was not only to address the inefficiencies but also to better meet the community's needs. Both appointments and walk-ins are accommodated during the new hours. These appointments, to emphasize on satisfying planning needs, can be made up to 30 days in advance. "Although no-show appointments are bound to happen, the high rate of no-shows consistently in the afternoon was seen as an opportunity to improve our overall efficiency," the License Center explained via Wright County's announcement.
In order to access the services for the Class D written test, participants are directed to the county’s website, where they can find more information and make reservations. Per the License Center's current agreement, as a third-party proctor, they are limited in the testing services provided—commercial or motorcycle written tests, or any road tests, are not available at their location.
