The accident, which took place on Thursday around 12:20 p.m., resulted in the tragic death of a pedestrian who was seemingly connected to a disabled red vehicle on the highway's shoulder.
According to FOX 13 Seattle, the authorities are looking for any visual material that could show a black Toyota Sequoia either before or during the moment of the collision, the driver of which reportedly continued westbound after the incident, only stopping after the vehicle became disabled near the Preston exit, following a fruitless attempt to carjack a white pickup truck, the driver then found refuge in the truck bed but was soon detained after a confrontation with troopers.
Further information disclosed by KIRO 7 suggests that the black Sequoia, driven by a 42-year-old, struck the victim—a 66-year-old Bellevue man who may have been tending to a flat tire on his sedan when the collision occurred, this detail inferred from the flat front wheel of the victim's vehicle.
