These individuals convened to sit for the entry exam, hoping to embark on a path to public service through the firefighting profession. The Fort Worth Fire Department exclaimed, "Congratulations to Our Future Firefighters!" and went on to praise the candidates for their "dedication, preparation, and passion for service."
The department's announcement delineated the next steps these hopefuls face—only a certain number will be chosen to advance to the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), a rigorous assessment of their physical aptitude for the demanding job. This stage is critical and serves to further filter the pool, the Fort Worth Fire Department stressed. Those who successfully maneuver through the CPAT will then push forward through subsequent rounds of the hiring process, culminating in the formation of Recruit Training Class #100—a milestone for the department.
