The competitive landscape in Fort Worth is heating up as 20 businesses gear up for the final stages of the 2025 Fort Worth Business Plan Competition. Participants, having already demonstrated their potential, are now set to engage in a series of business development workshops, one-on-one mentorship sessions, and intensive pitch practices, as reported by the City of Fort Worth's official news release.
Aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, the competition shines a light on Fort Worth's burgeoning small businesses and equips them with the tools necessary for enduring success. As the candidates refine their business plans, the top 8 will be selected to present their strategies to a judging panel including representatives from local businesses and financial institutions. This aligns closely with Frost Bank's commitment to community engagement as the competition's primary sponsor for the second consecutive year. The top three finishers will leave with cash prizes; $10,000 for first place, $6,000 for second, and $4,000 for third.
Today’s contenders range from Agape Pops' family-made premium popsicles to XO Halal's international halal-certified snack boxes, each tapping into unique market niches. These top 20 businesses were chosen for a reason: they represent the diversity and innovative strength of Fort Worth's business community, from Chocolatepeque Global's bean-to-bar chocolates to Williams Mobile Market Soul & Cajun Food Truck's Louisiana-style cuisine on wheels.
The business owners will benefit greatly from the wealth of expertise offered by partners such as Accelerate Fort Worth and TechFW. "Throughout the competition, the Top 20 will receive coaching and mentorship from Frost Bank, Accelerate Fort Worth, SCORE Fort Worth, Tarrant SBDC, TechFW, and other partners at the Devoyd Jennings Business Assistance Center (BAC)," as stated by the City of Fort Worth. This collaborative effort will not only enhance their business plans but also deepen their connections within the local business community.
