A 64-year-old man was arrested by Seattle police after a stabbing incident inside Rainier Valley Safeway left one man with serious injuries, the altercation taking place in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South around 4 p.m. yesterday, according to the Seattle Police Department Blotter.
Responding to emergency calls, patrol officers found the victim bleeding profusely from multiple stab wounds inside the grocery store; the suspect was apprehended within minutes, and the alleged weapon was seized as evidence. The Seattle Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance at the scene before rushing the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
Initial surveillance footage reviewed by the police showed an unsolicited attack where the suspect appeared to target the victim without any apparent provocation. "Within minutes, police located and arrested the suspect and recovered the knife as evidence," reports the Seattle Police Department.
