
Earlier today, the Upper East Side of Manhattan was disrupted by the sudden and violent collision of a car and an SUV, resulting in both vehicles careening into nearby scaffolding and injuring eight individuals. According to ABC7 New York, the incident took place just before 6 a.m. on Madison Avenue, stretching between 84th and 85th streets.
The Fire Department of New York swiftly responded to the chaotic scene at 1146 Madison Ave., as reported by PIX11, which occurred around 5:45 a.m., to fully assess and quickly to assist the injured. While all eight injuries were confirmed as non-life-threatening by the FDNY, at least two individuals were recognized with serious injuries and taken to a local hospital for immediate care.
Amidst the mangled metal and debris, a video surfaced on the Citizen App, capturing the aftermath of the crash which showcased the extent of the damage to the scaffolding and the vehicles involved. Although the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, as of now, no charges have been filed in relation to the incident.
Local authorities and emergency crews worked together to secure the area and to ensure no further injuries would ensue from the unstable scaffolding or the wreckage.
