Three individuals have been given multiyear sentences for their involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking operation. Michael Koontz and Jerome Francisco Borsch were pegged as main players in the drug ring selling meth across Maricopa and Yavapai counties, while Holly Rochelle Dagnino became entangled after investigators intercepted a drug deal intended for her, and as story unfolds, these sentences stand as testament that illegal drug trafficking carries severe consequences, a stake in the sand representing justice and deterrence in the perpetual fight against narcotics, according to a recent announcement by the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
In a stern warning from Attorney General Mayes, the outcomes of this investigation were underlined: "These sentences serve as a clear message: those who choose to endanger our communities by trafficking dangerous drugs will be held accountable," as reported by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
Following thorough investigation that began in April 2023, Koontz along with Borsch were linked to around 50 pounds of trafficked methamphetamine and Koontz's sentencing concluded with 8.25 years in Arizona's Department of Corrections on October 22, 2024, Borsch received 9.25 years as of May 22 and lastly, Dagnino was sentenced to 6 years on June 24, for possession unearthed during the traffic stop where, not missing a beat, investigators confiscated the narcotics, as detailed by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
