Starting tomorrow, the Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) is opening its Housing Choice Voucher Program application process. Aimed at aiding very low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities, the program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and offers safe and affordable rental housing options, as per the City of Arlington.
The week-long window for applications, which ends on August 6 at 3 p.m., will not prioritize applicants based on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, the positions on the waiting list will be determined randomly among the applications received, ensuring a fair chance for all applicants. Interested parties must have an email address to apply, and those residing or working in Arlington are the ones eligible to apply, as the program mandates an Arlington residency requirement.
Exclusively available online, applying for the Housing Choice Voucher Program does not require a visit to the housing office. However, for individuals who lack internet access at home, Arlington Public Libraries provide computer facilities. These libraries can be used to access from a device, elsewhere, with internet access if one doesn't have such a device at home.
