Yesterday morning, a carjacking incident shook the 2300 Block of Summer Avenue in Memphis. The Memphis Police Department reports that around 1:35 a.m., a victim was assaulted and subsequently robbed of his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze by three armed suspects. The confrontation took place beside pump #4, where the victim's tranquil refueling was violently interrupted when he was approached, punched in the face, and forced out of his vehicle by a male suspect.
Tracked shortly after the carjacking, the stolen vehicle was spotted near McLemore and S. Third. Witnesses observed two individuals, identified as part of the trio that committed the earlier crime, entering a convenience store dressed entirely in black. The suspects appeared inside the store purchasing items, remaining oblivious to the security cameras capturing their likenesses and sealing their fates in digital memory.
Description of the suspects has been circulated by the authorities. Suspect #1 is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, donning a black hoodie with white graphic designs, black shorts, and black & white Nike shower shoes, and was reported to be armed with a handgun. Suspect #2 and Suspect #3, both African American males, were seen wearing black jackets and black pants, also armed with handguns. Their attire makes a stark contrast against the backdrop of crime wherein they conduct their dangerous activities. The Memphis Police Department has urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
