In a recent crackdown on theft and narcotics in Ventura County, authorities have made arrests following reports of suspicious activity and the discovery of suspected stolen property in the cities of Camarillo and Ojai. According to details obtained by Nixle, Camarillo Patrol deputies arrested Gabriel Robert Adams, 44, and Tazma Monroe, 48, both residents of Oxnard.

The initial interaction took place last Wednesday, when deputies responded to a call concerning potential illegal transactions from the back of a U-Haul truck located on the 400 Block of East Ventura Blvd. It was during this response that deputies found narcotics and suspected stolen goods, including power tools and bicycles. To quickly coordinate, Camarillo Patrol deputies teamed up with the Ojai and Camarillo Investigations Bureaus to pinpoint the origin of the stolen items and to locate any victims from the Ojai Valley area.

Efforts by detectives from the Ojai and Camarillo Investigations Bureaus led to the identification of 15 victims of unreported thefts, with many claiming back their possessions shortly after the arrest. "Detectives are currently working to identify additional victims of the unclaimed recovered property," detailed the release by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. Meanwhile, Adams and Monroe were booked into the Ventura County Main Jail, facing several charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property.

Monroe's list of charges include "violations of H&S 11350(a)-Possession of a Controlled Substance, H&S 11395(b)(1)-Possession of Controlled Substance with prior convictions, PC 466- Possession of Burglary Tools, PC 496(a)-Possession of Stolen Property, and PC 530.5(a)- Identity Theft," while Adams faces similar offences.
