
In a significant blow to drug trafficking in Upstate South Carolina, authorities have apprehended a man and confiscated a substantial cache of cocaine. According to WBTV, over 165 pounds of cocaine and multiple firearms were found at a Knowlandwood Circle residence in Anderson during a narcotics investigation at the end of June.
The collaborative effort by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Anderson Police Department resulted in the discovery of the narcotics, tipping the scales at about 166.5 pounds. Seized during the operation, were at least three guns, while working closely with various law enforcement agencies, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Identified as the suspect, 46-year-old Mayo Levord Pickens, is now facing the repercussions of his alleged involvement in drug trafficking. As reported by WSPA, Pickens has been charged with drug trafficking and is currently held at the Anderson County Detention Center. The report detailed that the drugs weighed in at 75.5 kilos, equivalent to 166.5 pounds.
Pickens's arrest comes with severe consequences, facing federal charges that could lead to substantial prison time. According to a statement from the WYFF4, among the charges is trafficking cocaine.
