A Maryland man was fatally injured in a three-vehicle collision in Licking County this past Friday, according to reports from multiple sources, with four Ohio residents also suffering injuries during the Independence Day weekend incident. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place near the intersection of State Route 13 and U.S. Route 40 just before 3 p.m.
Deron Lee, a 30-year-old man hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, was identified as the deceased, having lost control of his Ford Explorer while traveling south on Route 13. Emergency services pronounced Lee dead at the scene upon their arrival.
The other individuals involved in the crash experienced less severe outcomes, with the driver of the Kia, Adrian Balser, and a juvenile passenger being transported to different hospitals to treat minor injuries, according to ABC6 On Your Side. Furthermore, Mark Arthurs, aged 61, and Peggy Arthurs, aged 59, both occupants of the Subaru, were attended to at the crash site for minor injuries.
