Bay Area residents who rely on the Belle Chasse Bridge for their daily commute will want to pay attention to the upcoming customer service events announced by the GeauxPass team. According to Plaquemines Parish's latest alert, two days in early August are set aside to help locals smoothly transition to the tolling system of the newly constructed Belle Chasse Bridge.
The events take place on Tuesday, August 5, from noon to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Plaquemines Parish Multipurpose Center. This is an opportunity for the public to directly engage with GeauxPass representatives, with the goal being to help to easily register for toll transponders ahead of the bridge's active tolling system which has been in place since May 14.
"These events are important for the community since they will assist with tolling on the newly constructed bridge," DOTD Sec. Glenn Ledet stated in an announcement obtained by the Plaquemines Parish website. The mention of thanks to the local legislative delegation and Plaquemines Parish for their efforts in organizing the event emphasizes the collaborative nature behind the initiative.
Anyone who has yet to sign up for a GeauxPass transponder should consider dropping by during these times. GeauxPass is keen for all regular travelers in the area to decidedly take advantage of these events and to stay updated with the latest information pertaining to bridge access and tolling requirements.
