
A series of burglaries in multiple communities around St. Louis has been linked to Armon Simpson, 39, of Belleville, Illinois. Simpson was arrested by the U.S. Marshals following investigations by at least nine police departments. According to FOX2now, he is connected to 22 break-ins within a 30-day period and faces over 30 felony charges in St. Charles County. Surveillance footage showed Simpson using stolen credit cards at a gas station in Illinois.
Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated to track down the accused, culminating in his arrest in Illinois by the U.S. Marshals Service, which facilitated local efforts from both the Southern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Missouri, reported by FirstAlert4. Simpson, who is accused of targeting vulnerable first-floor apartments with unlocked sliding glass doors, has now been charged with five counts of first-degree burglary, six counts of fraudulent use of a credit device, and 21 counts of stealing $750 or more, relating to crimes primarily from March to April of 2025.
Lake Saint Louis Chief Chris DiGiuseppi commended the regional collaboration that resulted in Simpson’s arrest, highlighting the dedicated efforts of officers and detectives. He stated, "I’m extremely proud of our officers, detectives and other staff who worked these cases and appreciate the regional collaboration of our other law enforcement partners to collectively keep our communities safe," as quoted by KSDK.
Following the arrest and charges, local authorities have advised residents to increase vigilance and take precautions to secure their homes. The investigation involved multiple police departments, including Ellisville, Maryland Heights, and Chesterfield, covering a wide area of criminal activity spanning St. Louis County and surrounding communities.
