Heads up, Bonnabel Boulevard commuters—the right northbound lane near I-10 is going to hit a snag next Monday. It's a full day affair, starting at the top of the morning, 9 a.m., and stretching out till the stars are peeking out at 3 a.m. You'll want to steer clear or slide into the adjacent lane to bypass the blockage.
The driver behind this roadwork is a sewer line in dire need of repair, Jefferson Parish officials etched this into the calendars. In the plainest of terms, "This closure is necessary to repair sewer line," the Jefferson Parish government stated. And, if the clouds cooperate and the rain gods keep at bay, crews will call it mission accomplished come the same day, weather permitting, of course.
The good news for regular road-warriors of this stretch is that it's a one-and-done deal, so long as the elements don't throw a tantrum. You can bet on that lane being sealed off just for the one day—irritating, sure, but not a recurring headache. Motorists can breathe a bit easier knowing the necessary detours will be minimal and, if all goes to plan, as fleeting as a catnap.
