Boston's recent spell of heat has been snapped by cooler, less humid air that moved in, providing a respite from the high temperatures and making for a day that's perfect for beach-goers, with sunny skies and highs reaching 83 degrees and northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph. Evening plans are in the clear too, with temperatures expected to drop to the comfortable 50s and 60s under what promises to be a starry sky, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The weekend forecast according to NBC Boston indicates a gradual warm-up on Saturday with highs nearing 86 and a calm wind shifting south in the afternoon, although humidity levels will also see a slight increase setting the stage for what may be a bit more than just "a bit warmer" day. Looking ahead to Sunday the weather takes a less certain turn,” the setup sees a chance of showers with a 30% chance of precipitation for Sunday night, and thunderstorms are also possible after 2pm with a 50% chance of rain.
Despite this, Sunday's outlook has somewhat improved with showers expected to hold off until late morning, providing ample time for temperatures to climb back into the low to mid-80s, and while the humidity is predicted to climb as well any showers that form could lead to substantial rainfall with NBC Boston stating, "Any showers that form could put down some serious water," warning that while torrential downpours aren't guaranteed, many will encounter some degree of wet weather.
The following days offer a return to clearer skies, as both sources agree that Monday and Tuesday are set to be sunny with high temperatures around 78 degrees and gentle northwest winds; along with mostly clear nights, as the air dries out once more, in effect creating an echo of the current day's pleasing weather, thus after a weekend with a sprinkle and rumble, the weather pattern is forecasted to enter a relatively dry stretch spanning the next 7-10 days allowing Boston residents to enjoy the outdoors once more with only minor interruptions.
