The Boulder City Police Department reported that officers responded to 163 calls for service between the morning of July 4 and the evening of July 6. These included public calls and self-initiated patrols. Seven individuals were arrested for various offenses, including DUI, indecent exposure, and drug possession. In a social media post, the department advised, if you're carrying drugs "for a friend," find a new friend.
According to the Boulder City Police Department on their Facebook page, the public was reminded to avoid impaired driving during the Independence Day weekend, using the hashtag "#DriveSoberOrGetPulledOver.” In their message, they stated, If you're carrying drugs and your "friend" is imaginary, don't assume we can arrest ghosts. The post received mixed reactions, with some supporting the approach and others raising concerns about the tone.
