
Brooklyn's streets became the backdrop for a harrowing incident Tuesday night when a driver allegedly fled a traffic stop, dragging an NYPD officer along Ocean Parkway and Avenue X in Sheepshead Bay. ABC7 New York reports that the confrontation took place around 10 p.m. The driver, a 36-year-old behind the wheel of a black Honda Pilot, is currently being searched for by the police after evading the stop and injuring the officer.
A minor injury was sustained by the officer, the fleeing suspect's vehicle was last observed heading southbound on Coney Island Avenue, according to the police. With citizens frequently sharing footage from the scene, a video from the Citizen App shows the urgent aftermath of the ordeal. As reported by 1010 WINS, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials came forth with additional details of the incident, sharing that during the traffic stop the Honda Pilot's driver chose to flee, resulting in the officer being dragged. The event, which unfolded rapidly at approximately 10:07 p.m. that Wednesday, left the officer with minor injuries to his leg. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to bring the suspect to justice.
