They endorse several smartphone apps like FordPass, myChevrolet, and Toyota Connected Services that enable users to remotely manage their vehicles, such as by locking, locating, or even disabling them. Having highlighted the digital defenses available, the Sheriff's post further informs that motion detection and real-time alerts are some of the amenities dash cams can provide to their users, in addition to capturing the road ahead of them.
An unforeseen ally in the battle against auto theft appears in the form of Apple AirTags, devices not primarily intended as anti-theft tools. The Sheriff's Office described how "hiding an Apple AirTag in your vehicle can help track its location if stolen."
