A former high school wrestling coach and California Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee, Ronald Wilson, has been re-arrested on allegations of sexual abuse after new victims came forward. According to KTLA, Wilson, age 72, was taken into custody earlier this year for reportedly having a sexual relationship with an underage girl during his tenure at Camarillo High School.
Wilson appeared in court on Thursday and was promptly taken into custody again after investigators identified additional victims. This latest arrest occurred as a pressing consequence of his original photo distribution, aimed at actively seeking out potential additional victims. The multiple charges include forced rape and sexual assault of underage children, with at least one being under the age of 14, as explained in the press release distributed by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and cited by Nixle.
With an extensive career spanning nearly three decades at Camarillo High School and at least 13 years prior at Oxnard High School, the impact of these allegations has affected many in the community. Both educational institutions are a part of the Oxnard Union High School District, which has expressed its collaboration with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is still encouraging anyone with information to come forward, suggesting that there are still unidentified victims. Detective Rico Rinaldi was referenced in press releases from both KTLA and Nixle as the main point of contact for tips, which can be provided anonymously. Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for these crimes. Full contact details can be found in the detailed press release provided by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
