The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has just announced an upcoming full closure on LA 1143 from LA 27 to Muria Road. This closure, scheduled to commence Tuesday, July 8, will run through August 22. The road will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, as crews work on cross drain replacement.

Eastbound motorists on LA 1143 are advised to take LA 27 north to Little Chenier Road, head east to Muria Road, and then south back to LA 1143. For those traveling westbound, the suggested route is Muria Road north to Little Chenier Road, then west to LA 27 and south to return to LA 1143. Commuters should plan for additional travel time and consider these alternative routes while the closure is in effect.
