An unsettling episode unfolded in west El Paso over the weekend when a car salesman, engaged in what he presumed was a standard vehicle demonstration, fell prey to a robbery at gunpoint. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon while the salesman from Car Lots LLC was conducting a test drive of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with an individual feigning interest in the purchase, as reported by KFOX-TV.
The details as described by KVIA, suggest that when the salesman and the suspect returned to the meet-up point at an apartment complex located at 500 Ruben, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded that the salesman exit the truck, valued at $19,800, the salesman complied but the trauma of such an encounter undeniably lingers, leaving a pall of unease in its wake.
The authorities have since ramped up their efforts to apprehend the individual responsible for this brazen act. In a bid to enlist public aid, Crime Stoppers disseminated a cellphone image of the suspect, described as being in his late teens to early 20s, with dark hair, an average build, and a wispy mustache. The agency remains hopeful that someone will recognize the suspect from the image, according to El Paso Times.
