The City of Casa Grande is on the cusp of wrapping up its Trekell Road Improvement Project, a necessary refurbishing designed to bolster both safety and the capability of the road in time for the onset of the forthcoming school year at Casa Grande Union High School, the city's announcement confirmed.
The six-month undertaking, which carries a price tag of about $5.8 million, has primarily upgraded the Trekell Road stretch between Rodeo Road and McCartney Road, expanding the road from two to four lanes between Avenida Luna and McCartney Road, it has included the addition of a median near the high school to regulate traffic access, the developments also encompass the creation of a two-way left turn lane on McCartney Road to ease congestion, facilitate smoother traffic flow.
Completion of the project, however, encounters a stumbling block as a remaining portion is caught in the snags of delayed paperwork stemming from a third-party natural gas provider, an inconvenience stretching over the past nine months and holding up the final touches by Ellison Mills Contracting.
Despite the hiccup, the City remains appreciative of the community's understanding during the enduring process of the road project and continues to strive for the benefit of residents and students alike, expressing gratitude in the official notice, "The City of Casa Grande thanks the community for its patience and cooperation throughout the duration of this important project."
