The county has not only maintained the shelter's operation but also reactivated cooling sites to combat the sweltering heat amidst the power void. For those with furry friends, pets are permitted entry as long as they're confined within an appropriate container or kennel. Clearly impacted by the heat themselves, residents needing support for pets that don't fit the dog or cat bill can reach out to Animal Protection Services at 702-455-7710.
While the regular bus service from Walmart at 3075 E Tropicana has ceased, there's an olive branch for those with mobility issues. RTC’s Paratransit service remains an option, and stranded individuals can schedule a pick-up by calling 702-228-4800 and selecting option #3. This information was reiterated by the county to affirm the continuity of support systems in light of the transit alterations.
