As residents and visitors gear up for a spectacle in the sky, the Clearwater Police Department has issued an advisory for those planning to attend the fireworks show at Coachman Park. A social media post from the Clearwater Police Department outlines important traffic information; namely, the closure of the Memorial Causeway bridge in anticipation of the 9:15 p.m. fireworks display.
According to the announcement, preparations will see the bridge close to pedestrians at 8:50 p.m. and to vehicles at 9:00 p.m., putting a temporary pause on the usual bustle of traffic over the waterway. Police have indicated, the bridge will reopen after it has been cleared of any fireworks debris and is safe for passage. With congestion expected, they advise using the Belleair Causeway to the south for beach access during the evening's events.
The police bulletin highlights an important advisory for those with plans in Clearwater Beach and beyond. "Your best bet to get to and from the beach during this time is to the south via Belleair Causeway," the message reads, signaling that the most practical routes will skirt around the central hub of celebrations.
