A quiet morning in Lake County turned into a scene of destruction on Friday when a home and an SUV were decimated by what officials believe to be an excavator. The Lake County Sheriff's Office reported, as per ClickOrlando, that deputies were summoned to the 9000 block of Pine Island Road near Clermont following calls about the property damage.

Arriving at the scene around 7:05 a.m., deputies discovered that the local residence had been hit multiple times on both sides, causing "major structural damage." The sheriff's office stated that the heavy equipment believed to have caused the damage was not found at the scene. Located southeast of State Roads 50 and 33, the intersection of Montevista and Pine Island roads, where the incident occurred, was closed by deputies as they pursued the investigation.

The aftermath also included a severely damaged Ford Expedition, as reported by WFTV, with a crushed roof. Both the home and the SUV were on the same property that became the center of deputies' investigations in Lake County.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office continues to probe the incident and has not released additional details. Officials have asked that anyone with potential information regarding this unusual and intentional property damage please come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
