The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with Safe Kids Cabarrus to host Safety Town, a free event aimed at educating children and parents on various safety topics. Announced through a social media post, the event promises to deliver interactive experiences for the young ones while providing valuable insights for adults on safety around medicine, guns, fire prevention, and the critical importance of seatbelts and proper car seat usage.
Set to unfold on Friday, July 25, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Flowe Park in Concord, Safety Town is shaping up to be an engaging afternoon. Besides safety lessons, families can look forward to activities including face painting, Fatal Vision exercises to visually simulate impairment, and games such as cornhole. In what seems to intend to bridge the gap between summer fun and autumn studies, the event will also offer free school supplies, marking the beginning of the school year.
According to the Cabarrus Sheriff's office post, there will be special appearances by local law enforcement and emergency services, including the Concord Police Department, Cabarrus EMS, and the Concord Fire Department. Not only do these appearances aim to foster community relations but they also serve to educate attendees on the various facets of public safety.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages the community to take advantage of this educational opportunity. "Join us for Safety Town — the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with Safe Kids Cabarrus for a fun, hands-on event where kids learn essential safety skills and parents can pick up valuable tips too!” the Facebook post announced. In addition to learning crucial safety tips, kids and families will be treated to the artistic talents of Stacy Graham Face Painting, likely to further colorfully enhance the event's atmosphere.
For those interested in attending Safety Town, Flowe Park is located at 99 Central Heights Dr., Concord, NC 28025. As per the Facebook announcement, attendees are urged to remember the date and time—Friday, July 25, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM—to ensure they don't miss this informative and enjoyable community event.
