A multi-county car chase on Friday ended with the arrest of Raul Alcantaria, a 29-year-old man from Conroe accused of online solicitation of a minor. The pursuit began when law enforcement tried to contact Alcantaria near a movie theater in New Caney. He drove away, leading officers through several counties and allegedly fired at deputies during the chase, according to Click2Houston.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said the chase escalated when Alcantaria fired multiple shots at deputies, with no injuries reported. A deputy from Montgomery County Precinct 4 was hurt and required stitches, though details about the injury have not been released. The scene remains under investigation. Precinct 4 told Click2Houston that Alcantaria is now in custody and no longer a threat to the public.
Liberty County authorities found Alcantaria hiding in the woods with the help of a drone team after a car chase that ended in a crash on Redbud Lane in Shepherd and continued on foot through Precincts 3 and 4 and into San Jacinto County. He is facing charges including Online Solicitation of a Minor, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, and an active warrant for Failure to Appear on an Assault Family Violence charge. His bond for the solicitation charge is set at $500,000. More charges may be filed by Liberty and San Jacinto counties, as mentioned by FOX26 Houston.
