Local constables have turned to the community seeking assistance in tracking down a theft suspect, who made off with a haul of sunglasses from a retail store. The incident, which occurred in the 29300 block of Northwest Freeway last Thursday evening, was captured on the store's surveillance footage, now key evidence in identifying the perpetrator.
The man, an unidentified individual who helped himself to roughly $902 worth of designer eyewear between the rush hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Represented in the grainy footage, the suspect stands around 5 feet 10 inches and weighs approximately 175 lbs., sporting a goatee and a durag hidden beneath a black hat. The fashion of the suspect was distinct; he wore a black shirt emblazoned with a white logo, teamed with black shorts and white slides, a black cross-body bag swung over his shoulder while clutching a Nike bag.
In a bid to expedite the case, Constable Mark Herman's Office has released a detailed description of the suspect and the corresponding surveillance images to the public. Witnesses or anyone with knowledge relevant to this investigation have been encouraged to come forward. On their Facebook page, Constable Herman implored the community, "If you have any information regarding the identity of this suspect, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement."
The call to action extends beyond direct appeals, as they also promote their mobile app "C4 NOW" for citizens to stay informed about local crime from thefts to traffic accidents. One should expect the suspect, if spotted, to be clearly identifiable by his distinct tattoos, full sleeves that adorn both arms.
