In a chilling update on a case that has gripped Cuyahoga County, 19-year-old Doyral Wynn faces an indictment for a string of violent crimes, including the sexual assault of a mother and her daughter. Prosecutor Michael C. O'Malley's office announced the indictment, which includes charges of rape, aggravated robbery, and kidnapping, among other offenses. The attacks took place in East Cleveland in May 2024, and Wynn was also charged with additional incidents, such as a shooting linked to the sexual assault.
The assault on the mother, aged 37, and her 19-year-old daughter occurred as they were returning home from a store on Hayden Avenue. An armed male in black clothing and wearing a mask forced them into a nearby field, where he committed the assaults at gunpoint. He later discharged two shots into the air before fleeing. Investigators later matched shell casings from the scene to a subsequent shooting incident involving Wynn.
Another terrifying encounter tied to Wynn unfolded on March 7, when a 34-year-old man and his family were followed and shot at by Wynn driving a black Jeep Cherokee. The family escaped unharmed, but the father of the family was able to identify Wynn as the shooter. A shell casing found at the scene was matched to those from the sexual assault, linking the crimes via ballistic evidence.
A search warrant executed on April 9 at a residence where Wynn was staying led to the discovery of seven firearms and Wynn's Social Security card. Wynn was apprehended on April 18 by the Cleveland Division of Police with a stolen firearm in his possession, which was confirmed as the weapon used in both the assault and shooting incidents, according to law enforcement.
