Calling all Cuyahoga County citizens interested in the gritty reality of forensic science and medical examination—the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office is taking applications for their fall Citizens Academy.
In a recent announcement, Dr. Thomas Gilson, the county's Medical Examiner, made it clear that the academy is an effort to engage the public with the high-level work happening inside the office. Starting September 18, the program will demystify the science and the process behind the scenes.
The upcoming academy will convene at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office every Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For those with an appetite for investigative techniques, this might be the perfect after-hours commitment, offering lectures, case reviews, and hands-on demonstrations from a diverse array of professionals, including doctors, scientists, and field investigators. According to a report on the Cuyahoga County website, participants will delve into various topics, all without sparing the technical details that define the discipline.
