Residents of Dallas can expect a mixed bag of weather in the coming days, with a forecast that includes chances of showers and thunderstorms followed by a steady climb in high temperatures throughout the week. According to the National Weather Service, today there's a 50 percent chance of precipitation with potential thunderstorms developing after 10 a.m., and winds gusting as high as 20 mph; the high is projected to be around 89 degrees.
As night falls, the city will see partly cloudy skies with a low around 74 degrees, and the winds will calm down to 5 to 10 mph. The subtle breeze might be a relief to some as it brings a slight respite from the day's humidity and heat. The outlook for Sunday promises mostly sunny conditions with a high approaching 92 degrees, while Sunday night is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 75. The winds are anticipated to settle in the evening, leaving a calm atmosphere as the sun dips below the horizon.
Moving into the work week, temperatures in Dallas are set to soar, with Monday's high nearing 95 degrees under mostly sunny skies and a continuous, yet gentle south wind. Nighttime will bring partly cloudy conditions and a low of approximately 76 degrees. Tuesday's weather is forecast to remain mostly sunny with a high inching towards 96 degrees and a light south-southwest breeze.
By mid-week, the heat continues to tighten its grip on the area; Wednesday's temperatures are set to peak at 98 degrees, and the evening will give way to partly cloudy conditions with a low hovering around 77. The temperature trend escalates and by Thursday, the mercury is forecast to hit the 100-degree mark under clear sunny skies, while nighttime offers little relief with the low settling around 79, only further emphasizing that summer heat in Dallas is a force to be reckoned alongside with its persistence stretching into the late hours of the day.
