
A Delta flight en route to Minneapolis from Chicago had to make an unexpected return to O'Hare Airport due to the presence of an "unruly" passenger, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The incident led to a delay and the removal of the disruptive individual by airline officials on Wednesday.
According to Delta, Flight 1902 made the decision to turn around and head back to O'Hare at 12:09 p.m., making a disturbance onboard the flight. the passenger, which led to the unscheduled detour, was later taken off the plane, as ABC7 Chicago detailed.
The flight eventually took off again at around 2:35 p.m., landing in Minnesota-Saint Paul Airport by 4:17 p.m. and ensuring that the remaining passengers reached their destination with safety as the priority. After the disruption, there were no reports of any injuries among those aboard.
"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior and will always work with law enforcement to that end," said the airline in a statement, which was disrupting the peace and comfort of others. The statement reiterated an apology to customers for the inconvenience caused by the delay, emphasizing that "safety and security comes before everything else at Delta," acknowledging the importance of upholding a sense of order and security in the skies.
