This addition, detailed in a recent announcement by the City of Concord, highlights the city's ongoing efforts to boost the downtown experience.
The installation of smart light poles that play music, the availability of free public Wi-Fi, and improvements like expanded sidewalks for outdoor dining and customizable lighting aim to enhance the vibrant downtown scene these changes come alongside a notable increase in new business ventures, with over half a dozen new establishments having opened in just the past six months and several others set to launch soon, including a historic theater turned shopping and dining venue.
Not merely content with tech and commerce upgrades, Downtown Concord continues to bolster its cultural landscape too. The City of Concord's first rotating sculpture show brings an artistic dimension to the streets, while the local murals provide eye-catching landmarks, among them is "Vivid Reclamation" by Jake Summerour, a piece recently unveiled that celebrates Concord's past with references to its textile and racing heritage.
According to the information shared by the City of Concord, visitors to Union Street can now soak up the local art, relax with outdoor dining or shop to the backdrop of continuous music, all while staying connected via the newly provided public Wi-Fi ensuring an inviting atmosphere that honors Concord's history and leans into its future.
