Utah County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) Detectives have made a significant arrest in a Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) case that has been under investigation since April of this year. The individual apprehended is Kevin W. Golding, a 26-year-old man from Eagle Mountain, Utah, who now faces multiple felony charges related to the possession and distribution of CSAM.

The inquiry, which began following a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, uncovered that Golding downloaded CSAM over a period spanning from January to November of 2024. Detectives identified nine separate instances linked to the suspect's activities, stepping up the seriousness of the crimes. On July 29, a search warrant was served at Golding's residence, where he was subsequently taken into custody. According to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, during his interaction with law enforcement, Golding confessed to viewing, downloading, and even sharing CSAM materials on social media platforms.

In a disturbing revelation during the investigation, Golding reportedly admitted to having thoughts about child abduction as he traveled around the community. His mobile phone, which contained CSAM images, was seized as evidence. Following his arrest, Golding was housed in the Utah County Jail, facing ten counts of second-degree felony for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and thirteen counts of first-degree felony for Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
