
Early on Sunday in Anahola, Kaua‘i, a structure fire on Manamana Road led to one person being treated for smoke inhalation and displaced four people and a dog. The fire was reported shortly after 3:45 a.m. Firefighters from the Kapa‘a, Kaiākea, and Līhu‘e stations responded, along with the Fire Prevention Bureau, the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative, and the on-duty Battalion Chief, as reported by the County of Kauai.
According to the County of Kauai, firefighters arrived shortly before 4:00 a.m. to find the residence on fire. The Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative cut power to the home, and crews began putting out the flames, which appeared to have started on the first floor. One building was destroyed, and another on the property was damaged.
The Fire Prevention Bureau is investigating a fire that caused about $303,000 in damage to a building and its contents. Firefighters stayed at the scene until just before 6:15 a.m. "The cause of the fire remains under investigation," as stated by the County of Kauai.
