An elderly man met a tragic end, and another was seriously injured following a vehicular collision in Yuba County on Wednesday night. According to ABC 10, the incident occurred around 9:11 p.m. near the intersection of North Beale Road and Park Avenue in Linda, where a white Honda Accord, driven by a 32-year-old, struck the two pedestrians.

The involved vehicle was found at the scene by police with front-end damage, the driver having collided with the pedestrians as they legally crossed the street in a crosswalk, this is what a witness stated, and one of those pedestrians, an 82-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries the subsequent day, while a 44-year-old man remains hospitalized with major injuries. The 82-year-old victim's identity has not been released at this time.

KCRA reports that the California Highway Patrol stated drug or alcohol impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Officials confirm that the driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with the ongoing investigation into the tragic event.
