After months of construction and anticipation, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), in collaboration with KSK, LLC, and various local stakeholders, has officially completed a major safety project at the intersection of US 6 and Post Boulevard in Avon. This project, which involves the reconstruction of a roundabout, aims to enhance safety and efficiency for both drivers and pedestrians navigating through this busy area.
According to CDOT, the roundabout at US 6 and Post Boulevard now boasts a new concrete surface along with improved approaches, drainage, signage, and striping. These updates are part of a broader effort supported by CDOT, the Town of Avon, the Eagle Vail Metro District, Eagle County, and the Federal Highway Administration to address traffic concerns and bolster mobility for all users at an intersection that provides critical access to US 6.
To help travelers navigate the new changes and prepare for any on-road experiences, CDOT encourages the use of various resources. Real-time traffic updates and road conditions can be found at COtrip.org or by downloading the free COtrip Planner app, designed for iOS and Android platforms, the link to which is readily available on CDOT's website.
