As the summer heat ratchets up, so does the likelihood of water-related mishaps. Armed with this knowledge, the Euless Fire Department, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, is providing local residents a chance to skill up on life-saving techniques. They've announced an opportunity for adults in Euless to receive CPR, First Aid, and AED (automated external defibrillator) certification. It's a move that seems tailor-made for the season when swimming pools and beach outings become daily activities for many.
CPR, when administered promptly after cardiac arrest, can nearly double a victim's survival chances. The folks in Euless have taken this to heart and are moving quickly to ensure their community is prepared. Residents who are 18 years of age or older are welcome to register for the offered classes. These sessions are set to take place on a rolling basis, a strategy seemingly designed to accommodate as many people as possible amidst their summer plans.
The cost of what could be the most valuable $40 investment in a person’s life has been set for the certification classes. To register, participants simply need to scan the QR code leading to the registration form found in Euless’s recent announcement.
