An assault in Sacramento’s South Avenue neighborhood last Friday night turned fatal. An adult male was found unresponsive at the scene and later died at a local hospital. The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Avenue, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
Police and Sacramento Fire personnel responded to the scene. Fire personnel found the victim and began life-saving efforts, but the victim died from their injuries. The case is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the area, collected evidence, and interviewed possible witnesses. No suspect information has been released, as stated by the Sacramento Police Department.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their Facebook page, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the victim's next-of-kin.
